Danny Guthrie

Head Coach EPC

British

Danny Guthrie is a UEFA C coach doing his certification with TFA for UEFA B. He heads TFA’s Elite Performance Centre working on 1-2-1 coaching to speed up development and elevate an athlete’s game. With his experience in professional football, he uses his real-life journey to motivate and guide the teams and shares practicals.

My aim as the head coach of EPC is to take young players from all over the world and develop them individually and create a team that at first can compete in division 3 and eventually promote to division 2. Creating the right environment here in Dubai for our players will allow them to sharpen their talents so that we can prepare them to progress into better and bigger leagues in the football world.

We focus on developing individual talent on the pitch as well as evolving each athlete’s professional personality to prepare them for a career in professional football. After over 20 years in the professional game, I know that talent is only one of the many ingredients needed for a successful football career – hard work, dedication, sacrifice, character, and most importantly resilience. Only when a player has all these ingredients will they be ready to take a that significant big step.

Ex-premier league player with over 200 appearances in the EPL with Liverpool, Newcastle, and Reading. Over 135 appearances in the championship with Blackburn, Fulham, and Newcastle. Danny’s professional debut was for Liverpool at 18 as a substitute on a field. He was the championship league winner with Newcastle with over 100 points in a season in 2009/10 and a Champions League runner-up with Liverpool in 2007. He played overseas in Asia for a year and was also a league winner in Iceland in 2021.
