Rashid used to play football for the Azerbaijan Premier League.

After his footballer's journey came to an end, he went into banking and worked for Access Bank in Baku for about 8 years

Even though he had swapped the match jersey with a suit, football remained important part of his life and Rashid helped set up the bank's futsal team where he not only played but also acted as a coach.

He took the team to second division in Azerbaijan's Futsal League and eventually helped them take the fourth place in the annual Futsal State Tournament.

In 2017 Rashid decided to move to Dubai, where a new chapter of his life began. He continued coaching - youth football this time, and made his coaching status official by obtaining his UAEFA C licence and

He joined Dynamo Dubai as a part-time coach and successfully coached their U12/U14 teams especially focusing on his players personal development and confidence. One of his proudest achievements is placing a student of his at Al Wasl cub - U14, who was later on shortlisted for the UAE national team - U14.
