Ricardo has been playing football at both semi-professional and professional youth academy levels in London.
At the age of 26 he decided to solely focus on coaching which saw him coach at the academies of AFC Wimbledon and Norwich FC before making the move to the UAE in 2018. Following two successful coaching seasons in Abu Dhabi he has now made the move with TFA to Dubai.
Ricardo has been coaching since 16 years old at a local club, gaining 12 years experience in the UK.
Since, Ricardo has gained his FA UEFA B qualification and is preparing to complete his FA UEFA A in the near future. In addition to coaching, Ricardo is a fully qualified secondary school PE teacher, currently teaching in a school in northern Abu Dhabi.
This gives Ricardo a specific expertise and deeper insight into child development both on and off the pitch, which he aims to bring with him to TFA.
While at TFA, Ricardo aims to create a competitive environment where players are always being supported and encouraged to improve their weaknesses and continue to develop their strengths. However, first and foremost he wants to contribute to the TFA environment where players feel comfortable and are learning life skills which will see them develop into good adults.
In the short to midterm, Ricardo aims to introduce a style of football in both training and matches which will see each player developing as individuals and prepare them for the next step in their football careers.
