How Do Players Progress at TFA?
At TFA Dubai (The Football Academy), we provide a structured football development pathway designed to support players from their earliest introduction to football through to advanced academy and elite-level football. The TFA Football Academy Dubai pathway is built around age, ability and individual development, giving players opportunities to grow technically, tactically, physically and socially at every stage.
From Elite Boots for ages 3–5 through the Junior and Senior Academy programmes, TFA provides a clear progression for players who want to develop their football skills in a structured and supportive environment.

Football for Early Years Development
Elite Boots – Ages 3–5
Elite Boots is the first and early years stage of the TFA Football Academy, introducing children aged 3–5 to football through fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities.
At this stage, the focus is on early years development, helping children build coordination, balance, movement, confidence and basic ball skills while enjoying their first experiences with football. It also gives young children the opportunity to socialise, communicate and learn alongside other children in a positive sporting environment.
Junior Academy – Ages U6–U11
The TFA Junior Academy is the next stage of the player development pathway for boys and girls aged 6–11. At this level, players begin to develop a stronger technical foundation through structured football training, working on skills such as dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, movement and decision-making.
The Junior Academy is designed to help young players become more confident with the ball while learning how to work as part of a team and understand the basic principles of the game.
As part of The Football Academy (TFA), players can continue developing their football abilities while gradually preparing for the more competitive demands of the Senior Academy.
Boys Football Academy
The TFA Boys Football Academy provides structured football development for boys within the Junior and Senior Academy pathway. Training focuses on developing technical ability, confidence, teamwork, game understanding and match experience while allowing players to progress according to their age and development.
As players move through the TFA Football Academy Dubai, they are given opportunities to build on the skills learned during their earlier years and prepare for higher levels of competitive football.
Girls Football Academy
The TFA Girls Football Academy provides a dedicated football development environment for girls, with age-appropriate coaching designed to help players build their technical skills, confidence, tactical understanding and enjoyment of the game. Girls can progress through the academy pathway alongside players of similar ages and development levels, with the opportunity to develop through structured training and competitive football.
The programme forms an important part of TFA Dubai’s wider football development pathway and supports girls who want to continue growing their skills within The Football Academy.
TechLab – Small-Group Technical Development
TFA TechLab is designed for players who want additional technical development through focused, small-group football sessions. Rather than being a separate stage of the academy pathway, TechLab can complement a player’s regular Boys or Girls Football Academy training.
The smaller group environment allows coaches to focus more closely on individual technical development, helping players work on areas such as ball mastery, first touch, passing, dribbling, shooting and decision-making. Players can therefore combine TechLab with their regular TFA Football Academy sessions for additional focused development.
SENIOR ACADEMY - U12 TO U16
The TFA Senior Academy is the next major stage of the football development pathway for boys and girls aged 12–16. At this level, training becomes more focused on advanced technical development, tactical understanding, positional awareness, decision-making, physical preparation and competitive match experience.
Players are challenged to take greater responsibility for their development while learning to apply their skills in more demanding football situations. The Senior Academy gives players within TFA Dubai a structured environment to continue developing as they progress towards higher levels of football.

Boys Football Academy
The TFA Boys Football Academy provides continued development for boys aged 12–16 within the Senior Academy. Players build on their technical and tactical foundations while developing their understanding of team play, positioning, decision-making and match situations. Training is designed to challenge players as they progress through the U12 to U16 age groups and prepare for higher levels of competitive football.
Girls Football Academy
The TFA Girls Football Academy provides continued development for girls aged 12–16 within the Senior Academy. Players build on the skills developed through the Junior Academy while progressing into more advanced technical, tactical and competitive training. The programme helps players develop confidence, decision-making, teamwork and match experience as they progress through the U12 to U16 age groups.
